Philadelphia Inquirer: "HBO will produce a feature-length documentary on the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, the network announced yesterday.
The Journalist and the Jihadi: The Murder of Daniel Pearl will track the parallel lives of Pearl and London-born jihadi Omar Sheikh, sentenced to death in July '02 for abducting and murdering the American journalist.
Both men were highly educated and came from privileged backgrounds.
CNN's Christiane Amanpour will narrate the film, to be directed and produced by Ahmed A. Jamal and Ramesh Sharma. Anant Singh (Yesterday) is a coproducer.
Journalist's debut on HBO will coincide with Pearl's 43d birthday, on Oct. 10."
