An SUV exploded near Capitol Hill this past weekend, badly injuring a corrections officer who had just left work at the DC jail... but, aside from that news that I bet you didn't know, check this:
It took 35 frickin minutes for paramedics to arrive. And another 20 for an ambulance to show up to transport her to the hospital.
35 minutes to respond to a massive explosion (which still seems to most to be a purposeful bombing) only 15 blocks from Capitol Hill, and 55 minutes for an ambulance? Seriously, that's unacceptable.
