Today, TNR has a follow-up piece to last month's "Pakistan for Bush: July Surprise?" article, basically claiming victory in their prediction that Pakistan would unveil a high-value target sometime in late July; coordinated to benefit the Bush re-election campaign. As the piece mentions, Faisal Hayyat, Pakistan's interior minister, made the announcement at midnight, 4 days after they reportedly captured Ahmed Ghailani, and right before Kerry's speech at the Democratic National Convention. Intentionally timed or coincidence? That seems to be the question that few can answer but many have contemplated.
